Excipients
Carefully selected ingredients and excipients for special requirements? Why not! Choosing the right raw material/excipient is one of the first and most important steps in a long manufacturing process. BIOGRUND supports you right from the start and helps you to maximise the chances of perfect formulations of solid oral dosage forms.
Are you in the development phase or do you only need small quantities of raw materials/excipients for your products? We specialize in these requirements as well as larger quantities.
What does excipient mean?
An excipient in solid oral dosage forms is used to improve the effectiveness, stability and manageability of products. Examples for such raw materials are:
- Film formers – hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose (HPMC), hypromellose etc.
- Binders (e.g. NaCMC)
- Tableting excipients (e.g. NaCMC | HPC | PVP | HPMC)
- Thickeners (e.g. NaCMC | HPMC)
- Plasticizers (e.g. glycerine)
- Polishing agents (e.g. for tablets/sugar-coated tablets)
- Non-stick agents (e.g. for soft gelatine capsules)
- Pigments (natural, synthetic, iron oxides)
